EVgo empowers electric vehicle (EV) drivers to take charge of their vehicle range. The company has constructed the nation’s largest publicly available DC fast-charging network to ensure no adventure is out of reach, no destination is too far, and no EV is left behind.
EVgo asked Amuse to create a comprehensive new website to showcase its services and promote specials while outperforming the previous site. The site needed to be relevant to both businesses and consumers alike. For current and prospective EV drivers, the site needed to act as a resource to educate and empower.
Strategy & Implementation
Amuse Digital designed a completely responsive website that educates drivers about EV charging, features special offers, and builds consumer confidence in electric vehicles. Throughout the site, we focused the messaging on the company’s far-reaching charging network. The site was also built to help businesses, builders, and MUD owners understand the market demand and value proposition for installing EV charging stations.
A combination of research and data provided the foundation for the information architecture, interactive design, and distinctive branding of the website. The execution was centered on an easy-to-use content management system. The site also represents a radical new online style guide developed by Amuse Digital and formally adopted by EVgo. An approachable, modern aesthetic was created to frame the service messaging.
The initial purchase cost of an EV can be intimidating, and early adoption of the technology can seem cost-prohibitive for some. EVgo and OEMs recognize their mutual dependence in service of the consumer. Both are robustly promoted on the new site. We positioned special offers as the first sliding hero banner on the homepage for maximum visibility.
On-the-Go charging plans are EVgo’s most popular offering. We utilized a responsive card flip progressive disclosure model to allow users to easily and stylishly compare plans to find the right one for their needs in an optimized number of steps.
